There is a mainline Railway station in the town, and also a narrow gauge steam train - this meanders up the Vale of Rheidol to Devil's Bridge.
There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy Aberystwyth starting from the doorstep of the Hotel, with strolls along the promenade, past the pier and on towards the castle, the harbour and the mouth of both the rivers 'Ystwyth' and 'Rheidol' to south. These coastal views offer on the odd occasion a glimpse of Cardigan bay native dolphins.
Constitution Hill is within close reach, at the North end of the prom, this offers panoramic views of Cardigan Bay and Aberystwyth's surrounding landscape, and offers the novelty of the Cliff Railway as one way of ascending Consti as it is known locally.
